It’s that time of year! Seattle winters can be gray and rainy, but that’s all the more reason to settle in around the fireplace! Don’t date your house because your fireplace looks worn out, check out some of our favorite fireplace flips for inspiration and ideas on how to keep your fireplace a focal point that’s clean and classy for years to come.
If you have multiple fireplaces in the house, great news…bring in complimentary design elements to keep it cohesive throughout your home! In our Everett flip, these two fireplaces are in adjacent rooms! The formal living space offers an unwell gabs fireplace that adds a cozy touch without overwhelming the space. Choose colors that play off the floor and wall so that the look is complete and the mantel stands out.
In the family room the fireplace is the anchor to those gorgeous windows! While the view takes you outside the warmth and glow of the fireplace, intricate tiling and custom mantel draw your attention back in. You want your mates to stand out while cohesively blending in!
Our Snoqualmie flip has a more contemporary feel. With all the new elements that surround the fireplace it was a must that we take this old red brick and turn it into a modern piece by painting the brick white for a fresh new look. The coziness of a wood burning fireplace adds to the character of this style and home while maintaining a look that’s on trend and timeless.
In our Colonial style Washington Park flip, we created a focal point with these gorgeous custom mantels and marble surrounded hearths. The marbled tile keeps these two gorgeous fireplaces both classic and timeless while offering period detailing that these old colonial homes are known for. And, how amazing is this master bedroom fireplace! Keeping the look of the home and seamlessly transitioning from one room to another is key. It adds a sense of style and cohesiveness along with all of the gorgeous baseboards, window frames, and wainscoting.
We love our new construction property on Mercer Island, and how fun is this patterned tile fireplace! The look of cement tile is popping up all over the place right now and really brings a fun design element to the room. Having the classic mantle really anchors the room and adds a timelessness to the fireplace to balance out that tile!
Another fun look from the Mercer Island project is this modern seamless style fireplace with large slabs of tile. This is a great way to elongate the look of the fireplace and make a grand statement in the space. Keeping with the earthy tones the colors blend and bring an organic feel to the room.
We hope you’ve enjoyed some of our fireplace flips! It’s so important to thoughtfully design your fireplace and mantel because it can make or break the look of the home. Make sure you choose a style that feels cohesive with the rest of the house and use your imagination to make the space inviting, cozy and a true focal point for the space.
